Our Story

Akshara was started in the year 1999 in Chandranagar Extn Colony. The motive behind starting this school was to provide a school for young children wherein they could learn in an atmosphere that was stress free. From its very inception Akshara wanted a school to be a school with a difference which was not a run of the mill over crowded school. This would enable us to give individual care and attention to our students. Our goal was to raise a school which is child friendly and child centered. To a large extent Akshara has been successful in achieving this.In our endeavours to give mainstream education to all children, we admit children with learning problems and give them suitable guidance and attention. We were also try to create an atmosphere congenial for learning through the fun way.

In the first year we started off with only a handful of students in the play school. In the next year we added the LKG and UKG classes. Our students looked forward to coming to school and wanted to come on holidays too. This helped us earn a reputation of a school which was like a home away from home for the little ones. Hence our parent members encouraged us in a big way to start standard one, as they did not wish to take their children from Akshara at least for the elementary classes. Thus lower primary classes were started in the year 2004.

The able team of teachers and care givers at Akshara are a devoted and dedicated group working together for the all round development of our children. We can proudly say that Akshara enjoys the patronage and goodwill of the society at large as we have been successful in giving our students a firm footing for their future education.
